This month we are focusing on Recalibration and Gut Health!  Did you know that in a recent poll by CBS News revealed that 22.2% of people said their New Year’s resolutions lasted three months.That means about 77.8% fail by March (i.e., within the first three months).  Why do they fail?
  • Resolutions are not turned into a habit
  • Goals are to broad and unrealistic
  • Too many resolutions at once
  • Losing momentum early
  • Lack of structure or plan
This is why it is important to reflect on the goals you set and recalibrate to insure you stay on track!    “Growth happens in the pause, when you take a moment to reflect on your goals, you gain the clarity needed to adjust your path and renew your momentum.” - unknown

“Gut health” refers to the overall well‑being of your digestive system, including your stomach and intestines, your gut lining (the barrier that keeps food and bacteria where they belong) and the gut microbiome, trillions of bacteria, fungi, and microbes that live in your digestive tract.  When these systems work smoothly and stay balanced, your body can digest food well, absorb nutrients, fight off illness, and regulate inflammation.  Some ways to support your guy health include: eating fiber-rich foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains, beans), including fermented foods (yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut), limiting highly processed foods and added sugars, getting consistent sleep, managing stress and moving your body regularly.

WELLNESS CENTER UPDATES
The locker rooms have been closed daily since February 2 from 9-10am and 9-10pm for a deep cleaning of the floors and showers.  We hope you are enjoying a cleaner locker room experience as a result!  For members who still want to workout during this time, there is a storage rack next to the weight room where you can store your belongings during this time.

Guideline Reminders: Please be mindful of your time on equipment, wear clean and dry shoes, avoid occupying lockers when you’re not exercising, and wipe down machines after your workout.  CLICK HERE for a refresher on all of the Wellness Center guidelines.

This month’s Group Fitness Schedule Launches March 2!  CLICK HERE to check out the full March class schedule.

  • Tuesdays:  12:15pm - Total Body Strength 45 | 4:15pm -  Pilates 45
  • Wednesdays:  12:15pm -  HIIT 45 | 4:15pm - Yoga 45
  • Thursdays:  7:00am - Tone Up 30 | 12:15pm - Fast Break Thursday Class Series
    • “Fast Break Thursday” Edition Classes begin Thursday, March 5 at 12:15pm!  In honor of the March Madness Basketball Tournament, workout to the hits of various musical artists, decades & genres as they go head to head!  A fast break is a term used in basketball.  It describes a quick, aggressive offensive push down the court immediately after gaining possession of the ball.  Expect each class to feature explosive, reactive energy to help you build strength & stamina!  For each Fast Break Class you take, receive one entry to win a Nutrilite Begin 30 Holistic Wellness Program Solution which includes: one 18.52 oz bag of Plant Protein, Begin Daily GI Primer and Balance from Within Probiotics!  Grab store coupons & product samples on your way out of class!

*Remember to sign up for classes in advance if you’d like to attend and do your best to remove your name from the class list if you’re unable to attend.  Check in on the iPad in the Group Fitness Room when you arrive!  Scan your badge at the front desk to check into the Amway Wellness Center.  If there are less than 3 people signed up for a class at 5pm the night before, it will be cancelled.
