This program is meant to ease individuals into a beginner level fitness flow. The program will include a variety of components that target strength, flexibility, aerobic skills, and a look into nutrition.
What will this program provide ?
The purpose of this program is to create a safe place for individuals to learn more about fitness, get back into fitness, and become educated on nutrition. The first class will consist of introduction basics as well as a sheet of exercise handouts that will be completed in class each week, including reps and their weight of choice. Along with this, the first and last class will consist of a survey that evaluates what the individual wants for themselves and from the program. By the end of the program, each individual will have 7 full, 45 minute workouts. These sheets will be stored in the coaches corner, where individuals will be encouraged to go and use their workout sheet on their own time, or simply do an exercise of choice. These sheets will have a goal section on the bottom where the individual can write a simple exercise goal, and when completed/or not, will have a box to check off their completion of the goal. By the end of the program, you will be able to see that the goals you have set are achievable if you hold yourself accountable. This program targets all areas of the body, yet spread out to allow time for the individual to learn because this is an introduction program. By the end of the program, the individual should see progression in their knowledge of exercise all around. Two other topics this program focuses on are nutrition and stretching. Each class will end with a cool down and a brief nutrition lecture. This warm up and cool down will also be a learning journey through the importance of stretching and how much it can improve someone’s health journey.
How will this program work?
Each class will consist of the same teachings each week, so it would only be necessary for an individual to come once per week to one of the three sessions. Each class will meet outside of the cardio room, prior to class. Each class session will hold up to 6 people, the sign up is first come first serve. An email will be sent out to each individual per week notifying them whether they have secured a spot in the class for the session selected. If an individual wants to participate and six individuals have already signed up, they will be added to a waitlist and notified prior to the class whether a spot opened for them or not. Individuals who have received a spot in a session will be sent an email and a text notifying them of their session each week.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4:00-4:45 PM.

Meet the Instructor!
Alexis is the current intern who will be graduating from Grand Valley State University this Spring with a major in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Health Fitness Instruction and a minor in International Business. Alexis enjoys activities like hiking, traveling, golfing, and cycling. She will be instructing this 8 week program! She wanted to create this program to provide confidence and motivation for others and to ultimately push others to be the best version of themselves. Health and wellness is something Alexis has always been passionate about and she is very excited to share this program with everyone!
